First Holiday

She came to the States for the Christmas holidays. I had to work on Christmas. I lived in a small San Francisco apartment crammed with furniture, because I had moved from a worse neighborhood, but larger apartment to a nice neighborhood and tiny apartment. She spent Christmas alone in my apartment that was stuffed with crap. She was wondering whether she had made the right decision, and was pretty depressed about coming all the way to the States to spend Christmas alone. Fortunately, I had a few days off for the New Year. We went to Big Sur and Monterey. We had a great time. I was impressed that we were able to stay for an extended time in my over-cramped apartment without getting on each others nerves. The visit was a success.

Meeting the Australian woman

We met at a conference in New Orleans (United States). She seemed attractive. I didn't know she was from Australia. I didn't know she was in a relationship. Things progressed, albeit as a great dilemma - for her, that is. I didn't realize what I was getting myself into.
